Denise Welch and Tim Healy cheered 'like royalty' at The 1975 gig as she enjoys 'Eva Peron' moment

Denise Welch joked that she had an 'Eva Peron moment' on Sunday night as she and ex husband Tim Healy both drew cheers from the crowds when they went to see son Matt and his band The 1975 kick off their latest UK tour.

Denise has often spoke about Matt's music career on Loose Women, as well as recently being in the audience to see her eldest child and his bandmates in action at New York's famous Madison Square Gardens as they delighted tens of thousands of American fans. Ex Benidorm and Auf Wiedersehen Pet star Tim is also a very vocal cheerleader for Matt's musical exploits on his social media, with him rushing to celebrate The 1975 landing another number 1 album last year.

Both Denise and Tim were in the audience at the Brighton Centre on Sunday as The 1975 kicked off the UK leg of their tour and it didn't take long for fans to clock them both sitting in the front row of a balcony above the standing area of the arena. Their attendance was acknowledged with a flurry of cheers, with a delighted Denise sharing the footage in a video she posted on Instagram.

In the short clip, Denise is seen in the crowd alongside Loose Women colleague Jane Moore, who she clashed with on air just days earlier, in a heated spat over Prince Harry. Both ladies had smiles on their faces as they took in the atmosphere, with Denise seen getting up and waving as people recognised her.

Sharing the video on her Insta grid, the ex Coronation Street actress wrote: "Don’t Cry For Me Brighton!!! My Eva Peron moment at @the1975 first night of the UK tour!!"

Reacting to the response Denise and Tim got from the crowd, one fan tweeted: "Denise Welch and Tim Healy being treat like royalty at The 1975 show is honestly so quintessentially British but the so British that still gives me pride in my nationality."

Reacting to Denise standing up to address the crowd, another posted: "Denise Welch giving a Pope-esque address to The 1975 fans is frankly iconic behaviour," with a third commenting: "t the 1975 to see denise welch purely and simply"
