Denise Van Outen to make epic return to TV presenting for first time in 9 years

It’s been nine years since Denise Van Outen has worked as a TV presenter, but the star is set to make an epic comeback this year.

The former Big Breakfast host, 47, is set to ‘go back to her roots’ and will join Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch as a co-presenter.

A source told The Sun that Denise is overjoyed to be making a return to the career which made her a household name.

The TV insider revealed: “Denise is going back to her roots as a TV presenter and has been asked to join Steph's Packed Lunch.

"She is really popular with viewers and bosses can't wait for her to come on board.

"Katie Price has been a huge hit and they are hoping Denise will be too."

Denise first kickstarted her presenting career when she hosted The Big Breakfast with Jonny Vaughan from 1997 to 1998.

The much-loved star then made a comeback in 2000, but decided to throw in the towel just one year later in 2001.

While Denise and Jonny are regarded as the greatest duo to ever host The Big Breakfast, behind the scenes after they both parted ways with the show, they famously fell out and didn't speak to each other for years.

Despite the fact they cast their friendship aside for years, the pair have recently repaired their relationship.

Speaking on the Sweat, Snot and Tears podcast, the former Dancing On Ice star said: "We have been speaking a lot recently. We've been on-and-off as friends for years for various reasons...

"A lot of my friends, that's never happened with, but I think just ours had combined career and work. When it's a work thing it's different."

"We've started having conversations. It would be nice to do something to mark the 30th anniversary."

The show launched in 1992 and was originally hosted by Chris Evans and Gaby Roslin.

Other presenters who worked on the show over the years included Zoe Ball, Kelly Brook, Donna Air and Richard Bacon.

It also featured segments with puppets Zig and Zag, Mark Lamarr and Johnny Vegas.

The show was canned in 2002, and featured a tribute from Prince Charles which aired shortly before the end of the final show.
