Denise Van Outen 'struggled to see a way out' following bitter split with Eddie Boxshall

Denise Van Outen has revealed that she 'struggled' to to a way forward amid her gut wrenching split from ex-fiancé Eddie Boxshall after cheating rumours.

The former Celebrity Gogglebox star, 48, was forced end her seven-year relationship with partner Eddie in January after months of 'speculation' that he had been unfaithful.

Months on from their bitter split, Denise has bravely opened up about the immense struggles she faced amid the breakdown of her relationship to Ferne Cottton on the Happy Place podcast.

During her candid chat, Denise admitted that she struggled to see a way forward when she discovered Eddie's cheating ways.

The 48-year-old star revealed that she was incapable of sleeping or eating, and she simply felt 'empty' inside at all times.

"It was horrible and heartache is horrible and it doesn’t matter who you are where you’re from", Denise shared.

"Hurts just as deep, and loads of people have messaged me on social media, women and men who’ve gone through it.

"Those nights of just sitting there on the patio 3/4 o clock in the morning feeling drained and empty and thinking I don’t know how I’m going to get through the next week because enough feel so broken, it’s horrible."

The TV star went on: "It hurts. I couldn’t breathe, I phoned one of my friends one night and I felt like someone was sitting on my chest, literally could not breathe, you get that knot in your stomach, and it wont go, and you’re like when will this feeling leave me?"

Throughout the candid chat with podcast star Ferne, Denise admitted that she is now seeking therapy after she was 'literally flawed' by her relationship ending.

"I'm good actually. I'm not fully healed. I'm getting there," she told.

"I'm enjoying therapy. I'm learning so much about myself. That I hadn't even looked at myself properly."

The Celebrity Gogglebox star touched upon her break up in her book, A Bit of Me: From Basildon To Broadway And Back, which she claims to have found Eddie's messages to multiple women.

Meanwhile Eddie, a commodities trader, kept quiet on the break up until last month speaking to The Sun he stated: "I broke her trust. I'm deeply sorry."
