Denise Van Outen ends bitter 23 year feud with Big Breakfast star Johnny Vaughan

Denise Van Outen has healed her bitter rift with Johnny Vaughan after 23 years.

The pair were a huge hit hosting The Big Breakfast together in the 90s but later fell out after she found out he was on a higher salary.

However, they have made up and may even reunite for the show’s 30th anniversary next year. Denise says: “It would be nice to do something.

"Johnny and I have had a bit of a rocky relationship over the years for various reasons and, funnily enough, we’ve messaged a lot in lockdown."

“These situations make you reflect and realise some of the silly niggles and arguments you have are just not worth it.”

Pulling in two million viewers every morning, she and Johnny, 54, were a ratings winner on the Channel 4 show.

Denise, 47, left in 1998 before returning in 2000 but the duo failed to capture the same success and the show was axed in 2002.

“We never got back on track.”

Dad of three Johnny later signed a £2.5m deal to present a BBC1 talk show then reunited with Denise in 2008 to host the Capital Breakfast Show but she quit after six months.

Denise is fronting Heineken’s Brewing Good Cheer campaign to highlight the important role pubs play in communities.

As part of the campaign HEINEKEN, in collaboration with The Campaign to End Loneliness, has released the Opens Arms report which reveals how great British pubs help to tackle loneliness and social isolation.
