Denise Van Outen details horror Dancing On Ice injury that left her vomiting and 'nearly passed out'

Denise Van Outen has spoken about her horror injury which has forced her out of Dancing On Ice.

The presenter has been forced  to quit the ITV show following just one performance after a fall on the ice while training.

Denise, 46, managed to skate through the 'unbearable' pain during her first performance in the launch week of the 2021 series, initially thinking she had dislocated her shoulder and damaged her tendons.

The self-confessed "tough old Essex bird" soldiered on but says she came off the ice vomited and nearly passed out.

A recent scan then revealed she had three bone fractures as well as partial disclocation.

Discussing her injury, Denise told The Sun : "I can't rotate my arm or move it too much. I'm very limited with movement, and there was only ever going to be so much I could do on the ice.

"With an injury like this it is too dangerous to go back on. I didn't want to end up on a surgeon’s table with pins.

"I obviously didn't know at the time that it was fractured as well, but now it all makes sense because of the level of pain.

"I came off after that show and vomited, and I nearly passed out because I was in so much pain.

"At the same time it was still good to be part of it. It's just such a shame. I would love to have carried on. I'll never ever know what I'd be capable of doing."

Denis and skating partner Matt Evers have now been replaced for the rest of the competition.

Olympic gymnast Amy Tinkler and pro-skater partner Joe Johnson will instead join the line up from this weekend.
