Denis Suarez agent makes admission about his Arsenal future

Denis Suarez’s agent has admitted that the midfielder’s loan spell with Arsenal 'hasn’t been his best’ - and a summer switch to Napoli could be on the horizon.

The Barcelona playmaker agreed a temporary deal at the Emirates in January with a view to a permanent move in the summer.

Yet Suarez has struggled to make an impression in North London, failing to start a competitive game and being restricted to only 67 minutes spread across four substitute appearances in the Premier League.

He was left out of the Gunners' squad entirely as they headed to Watford for a crucial game for their top four hopes on Monday leading to questions surrounding his future.

It later emerged that he missed the victory over the Hornets as he's struggling with an injury, but agent Felix Guende is aware of the struggles he has endured this season.

Guende told Radio Kiss Kiss : “He has two years left at Barcelona. This year in England hasn’t been his best. He’s played little and hasn’t been able to find a rhythm.

“At the moment, he’s injured. He has muscle fatigue and an injury. We’re awaiting the results from the exams.”

Suarez is said to be keen to try a short period of rest to allow the problem to resolve itself if possible, with his pain said to be most intense when twisting or quickly turning.

It appears he will be available to play if needed during the remainder of the season, but he was not risked against Watford.

It looks unlikely that Arsenal will make the move permanent this summer, however, and Napoli are reportedly keen on bringing him to Italy.

“Napoli? The interest is always appreciated, being a team that has been fighting for the top positions for years,” Guende added.

“It’s a bit soon to talk about the transfer window, but we aren’t excluding anything.”
