Denis Odoi to miss Fulham vs Wolves clash after being knocked unconscious at Cardiff City game

Fulham defender Denis Odoi will miss his side's clash against Wolves this weekend after being knocked out in Fulham's game against Cardiff City.

The Bluebirds' clash with Fulham on Saturday was halted for almost 10 minutes when Odoi was knocked unconscious after a mix-up with team-mate Maxime Le Marchand saw the defender take a boot to the head.

Odoi initially got to his feet after coming round but continued to receive treatment on the pitch, with medical staff from both clubs rushing onto the pitch to offer help as concerned team-mates gathered round.

Fulham have now confirmed Scott Parker will be without the services of Odoi for this weekend's trip to play Wolves.

Parker said: "The only one [missing] is Denis who had a concussion from the weekend. He’s on a protocol now to try and get back for our last game of the season [against Newcastle United].

"I saw him faceplant and he did look a bit unconscious with the way he fell, but the medical team were superb, they were straight onto it to stabilise him and get him off.

"He’s all good now, he’s fine. His wife had a baby as well the other day so that’s probably given him more of a headache than the concussion!"

On Saturday, Odoi was given oxygen by medics and was put in a neck brace as a precaution.

While being carried off the pitch on a stretcher, fans inside Craven Cottage applauded the Belgian footballer before the game resumed.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Fulham manager Parker said: "He’s okay. He was out cold for 4-5 seconds. Concussion protocol meant he had to come off but he’s all good. I’ve been told he’s okay.

"He’s obviously not aware that he’s jumped up and when you’re knocked out you can become a little aggressive, but the medical team were first-class in getting him off and getting him healthy.

"I’ve only seen it real time and it looked like he was out when he hit the ground."
