Dengue patient on way to Indore hospital dies in car crash

INDORE: A 19-year-old dengue patient, who was being brought to Indore for hospitalization, died when their driver fell asleep at the wheel and the car crashed on Saturday. Her mother and uncle were critically injured.

Betma police station incharge DPS Chouhan said the victim, Lalita Rajput, was admitted to a hospital in Rajgarh for a few days after which her doctors referred her to Indore, about 200km away.

Her mother and uncle immediately set off for Indore with her in the family car. According to an eyewitness, Ramesh, the driver did not slow down while approaching a speedbreaker in Betma (about 30km short of Indore), said police.
