INDORE: Thirteen new cases of dengue were reported on Friday, taking the tally this year to 361, the highest in last six years.
District malaria officer Daulat Patel said, “The tally of dengue infections has crossed levels of the last three years but cases are on a declining trend right now.”
For the last one week, daily infection has slightly dipped to 17 on Friday from as high as 22, said Patel.
With campaigns to destroy larva and fogging in epicentre with our 14 field teams, we are hopeful for further reduction in its number, said Patel.
The records further showed that of the 17 cases, 13 were males, four females including two children.
The new cases were reported from Saket Nagar, Bhawarkuwan, Mahalaxmi Nagar, Chhoithram mandi, Veena Nagar, Meghadoot Nagar, gandhi nagar, Vijay Nagar, South Tukoganj and others. The records further showed that there had 21 active cases right now including eight admitted ones. This year, most of the cases were detected through OPD and very less hospitalisation were reported among dengue infected.
