New Delhi: Six more dengue cases and two malaria cases were reported in the capital last week, according to the latest report of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) released on Monday. The total number of dengue cases reached 48 this year in comparison with five in 2021, six in 2020 and three in 2019 till this point of time. Four malaria cases were reported till March 12, against one in 2021, 11 in 2020 and 0 in 2019 at this point of time. Further, one case of chikungunya was also reported in the city last week, taking the total number to eight compared with one in 2021 and none in 2020, stated the cumulative report submitted by SDMC. Apart from the east corporation, north and south civic bodies are also stressing upon beefing up measures to control dengue cases from the beginning of the year.
