The full results in Denbighshire's local elections 2022 as council remains split

The votes have been counted counted in Denbighshire and there is still no overall control of the local authority.

Of the 48 seats up for grabs, Labour won 19 seats and picking up three more than in 2017, meaning it is now the largest party in the administration. The Tories, who were the largest party, dropped to fourth place after winning just six seats - 9 fewer than in 2017.

The independents picked up four extra seats bringing their total to 12 and there was no change for Plaid Cymru which retained the eight seats it won in 2017.

The Green Party also picked up two seats while the Lib Dems gained one.

The result in 2017

In 2017 the Conservatives won eight extra seats to win a total of 16 seats and became the biggest group on the council. Labour had 13 and a net loss of six.

Conservative : 16

Labour : 13

Independent: 8

Plaid Cymru : 9

Liberal Democrat : 1
