In Chicago, demonstrators gathered outside immigration court on Tuesday, demanding an end to the enforcement sweeps and opposing the military's presence in California.
The group marched through the city centre, chanting “No more deportations!” as tensions escalated when a vehicle sped through the crowd. It was not immediately known if there were any injuries.
Similar protests in Seattle saw entrances to a federal building blocked, aiming to disrupt the transport of detained immigrants.
Despite growing unrest, the Trump administration insists deportations will proceed. Larger “No Kings” protests are expected Saturday, coinciding with a planned military parade in Washington.
