  • Democrats' reluctance stems from Musk's rightward shift, including his purchase of Twitter (now X), promotion of conspiracy theories, reinstatement of Trump's account on X, and financial support for conservative causes.
  • Musk's political activities, such as funding a conservative candidate in Wisconsin's Supreme Court election and criticising Trump's trade advisor, have made him a target of Democratic criticism.
  • Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who owns a Tesla, stated that she does not accept money from billionaires, further distancing herself from Musk.
