Democratic Iowa caucus results delayed for quality control checks

February 4, 2020: The Iowa Democratic Party announced that caucus results are delayed due to quality control issues. The state party announced the delay was due to quality control issues. Communications director Mandy McClure said in a statement, “We found inconsistencies in the reporting of three sets of results. In addition to the tech systems being used to tabulate results, we are also using photos of results and a paper trail to validate that all results match and ensure that we have confidence and accuracy in the numbers we report. This is simply a reporting issue, the app did not go down and this is not a hack or an intrusion. The underlying data and paper trail is sound and will simply take time to further report the results.” The following Republican results were based on 99 percent of precincts reporting. Donald Trump won the caucuses and has been allocated at least 38 of the 40 delegates. Democrats Michael Bennet held his 47th town hall in New Hampshire on Monday night, where he discussed prescription drug prices and other policy issues. California Secretary of State Alex Padilla endorsed Joe Biden on Tuesday. Michael Bloomberg will campaign in Philadelphia on Tuesday with former city Mayor Michael Nutter. He will also campaign in Detroit, making his second visit to Michigan as a presidential candidate. Pete Buttigieg is holding four town halls in New Hampshire on Tuesday. The Nashua Telegraph is hosting a town hall with Tulsi Gabbard on Tuesday in New Hampshire. Amy Klobuchar will campaign in New Hampshire with stops in Concord, Portsmouth, and Nashua on Tuesday. Deval Patrick continues to campaign in New Hampshire with stops in Manchester and at the University of New Hampshire. Bernie Sanders will hold a rally in Milford, New Hampshire, on Tuesday. He will then deliver a response to the State of the Union in Manchester. Tom Steyer is campaigning in Las Vegas on Tuesday before heading to New Hampshire. Elizabeth Warren is holding a meet-and-greet event with Julián Castro in New Hampshire on Tuesday. Andrew Yang will campaign in New Hampshire on Tuesday with stops in New London, Laconia, and Lebanon.
