King Prajadhipok’s Institute is running a course on democratic government for 160 senior executives from the private and public sectors, including politicians.

It is the 30th edition of the course and was launched in Bangkok on Saturday at a ceremony presided over by Parliament President Sophon Zarum.

Assoc Prof Issara Sereewatthanawut, secretary-general of the democracy promotion institute under the supervision of the parliament, said 160 senior executives were admitted to the course this time. They included MPs and other politicians, along with people from the private sector and civil society.

The course was aimed at educating participants about the constitutional monarchy, leadership and policy analysis. It was also intended to facilitate networking and the development of national administration amid rapid global changes, he said.

The course runs until March next year.
