Demi Vollering turns women's Tour de France upside down on eve of finish

Demi Vollering won stage 8 of the Tour de France and took the yellow jersey on the eve of the finish. The Dutch rider managed to distance her rival Kasia Niewiadoma.

Also in this edition: Gary Hunt’s bronze medal in high diving, Léon Marchand’s withdrawal from the individual medley events, Paris Saint-Germain’s draw against Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup and its agreement with Ferran Torres, Chelsea and Real Madrid’s wins in their respective pre-season friendlies, the elimination of the Lebrun brothers at the WTT Champions in Yokohama, the end of Arthur Rinderknech’s run in Montreal and the death of Jorge Messi, Lionel Messi’s father.
