Demi Rose accused of cultural appropriation at 24th birthday party with x-rated Egyptian outfit

Demi Rose has been accused of cultural appropriation after dressing as an Egyptian to her birthday fancy dress party.

The model held a dress up bash in her countryside mansion to celebrate turning 24, but her decision to dress as Cleopatra left some unimpressed.

As she posed for a string of snaps which she shared with her 8.9 million Instagram followers, Demi wore next to nothing in a black embellished bralet and a black side split skirt.

She pulled her look together with a long black Egyptian robe and a dazzling headpiece, and threw on an array of body jewellery.

However, it didn't take long for many to point out that Cleopatra would have been a black woman, and question whether it was appropriate for Demi to dress as her.

"Cleopatra was black...," one follower wrote, in a comment which quickly amassed 60 'likes'.

While another wrote: "Isn't this cultural appropriation?"

Mirror Online has contacted Demi's representative for comment.

This isn't the first time Demi has found herself at the centre of controversy after starring in a provocative snap.

A controversial billboard ad of  Demi Rose  showcasing her eye-popping assets in a revealing dress sparked complaints from parents after it was placed close by a local school.

Dozens of people claimed the saucy image - which showed the model wearing a skin-tight dress and no bra - was 'overtly sexual' and 'objectified women'.

However, the snap of the Instagram sensation was deemed safe for work despite numerous complaints.
