July 08--Ariana Grande is out for the Major League Baseball All-Star festivities; Demi Lovato is in.
For those of you unfamiliar with your 22-year-old former child stars turned pop divas, Grande rose to fame on Nickelodeon, as opposed to Disney Channel grad Lovato.
Grande is also the one who got her wisdom teeth pulled on Monday, which is the reason her camp gave Wednesday for the singer's removal from the lineup of Saturday's MLB All-Star Concert at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati.
By coincidence, Grande is also the one who ruffled some feathers by appearing to lick some pastries for sale at a Lake Elsinore donut shop and exclaiming "I hate Americans. I hate America" -- on the Fourth of July, no less -- as caught on a security camera and released to the public by TMZ.
(Also by pure coincidence, baseball is known as America's pastime.)
Grande said Wednesday that her comments were taken out of context but apologized "for not using more discretion with my choice of words."
So, anyhow, Lovato is stepping up for the concert, which should come as a relief to all those hardcore baseball fans under age 8 who are looking forward to the All-Star Game so much that they will start watching related events three days before the actual game.
