Demi Lovato marries Jordan Lutes in romantic ceremony in California after previous failed engagement

Demi Lovato married her boyfriend Jordan “Jutes” Lutes in a lavish ceremony in California on Sunday.

The singer, 32, tied the knot with the songwriter, 34, after three years of dating in a fairytale wedding attended by their closest friends and family.

Lovato wore a custom-made strapless Vivienne Westwood dress for the nuptials, before changing into a silk column dress for the reception.

Hollywood party planner Mindy Weiss organised the wedding, which was attended by Lovato’s three beloved dogs, according to DailyMail.com.

Lovato - who previously had a whirlwind engagement to actor Max Ehrich - revealed she has been a longtime fan of iconic fashion designer Westwood.

“When I was thinking about [what dress style I wanted] I often found myself coming back to Vivienne’s designs – specifically how the silhouettes really compliment the curves in your body, and her use of corsets,” she told Vogue.

The Sorry Not Sorry hitmaker went on: “We were not only able to work off that [initial] inspiration, but we added touches that really make this dress so special to me … I love everything about the dress.”

Describing her second dress for the reception, the Camp Rock alum added: “There was so much attention to detail on the reception dress beading. It’s a one-of-a-kind piece that makes me feel so special.”

Lovato, who goes by she/they pronouns, and Lutes held an intimate rehearsal dinner on Saturday night with their guests the day before the wedding.

The popstar shared her excitement at marrying Lutes in a sweet Valentine’s Day Instagram post dedicated to the musician in February.

“Jordan, I cannot WAIT to marry you!! The past 3 years have been the best 3 years of my life and I have you to thank for that,” she penned.

“I’m obsessed with your heart, your love and your light. I can’t wait to grow old with you and start a family together… Happy Valentine’s Day to the love of my life. I love you honey!!!”

The couple are thought to have started dating in 2022 after meeting when he worked on her album, Holy Fvck.

Lutes was a co-writer on the album’s songs Substance, Happy Ending, and City of Angels as well as being a background vocalist on City of Angels.

She was previously engaged to actor Max Ehrich (Instagram @ddlovato)

He proposed in Los Angeles shortly before Christmas 2023.

Lovato was previously engaged to four-time Daytime Emmy nominee Ehrich in 2020. She ended their romance after six months of dating.

They met in March 2020 and began quarantining together immediately during the Covid lockdown, got engaged in July, and abruptly split in September.

Lovato later said their short-lived engagement had given her a “false sense of security”.

“I really had myself fooled, because it was the safe and expected thing,” she told Entertainment Weekly in 2021.

“Obviously I cared deeply about the person, but there was something inside of me that was like, 'I have to prove to the world that I'm okay.’

“I just don't need an object on my finger to make me feel like I've got my s**t together. It looks like stability, but it doesn't mean that it is. And I don't actually grow through stability. I find that I like living not in chaos or crisis, but in fluidity.”
