Demba Ba's furious response as fourth official accused of racism in PSG vs Istanbul clash

Demba Ba furiously confronted the fourth official who was accused of using racist language towards Istanbul Basaksehir's assistant manager during their game against PSG.

Tuesday's match was suspended during the first half after ex-Cameroon international Pierre Webo was understood to have been the victim of the racial slur.

Webo was sent off after 14 minutes after words were exchanged with fourth official Sebastian Coltescu from Romania.

After being sent off, Webo was heard saying "Why did you say n*gro, why did you say n*gro?"

A fiery debate was then held on the touchline around 15 minutes into the game when tensions spilled over on the touchline at the Parc des Princes.

During this time, Ba was picked up by cameras angrily saying to the fourth official: "You never say 'this white guy', you say 'this guy', so why when you mention..."

He was then interrupted, but soon continued: "Listen to me. When you say 'a black guy', why do you have to say 'this black guy'?"

One of the officials responded that it is a miscommunication relating to "Romanian language."

Ba then led his teammates off the pitch after around 22 minutes as refereeing officials, club officials, coaching staff and players discussed what they believed had happened.

BT Sport understand that after negotiations the match is set to restart at around 9pm.

Istanbul tweeted "NO TO RACISM" just minutes after the encounter.

And PSG posted: "After a red card is given by the referee to a member of opposition staff, discussions continue between players and staff of both teams with the referee.

"The Basaksehir players decide to go back to the locker room, the Parisians follow them."

Meanwhile in the same group, Manchester United and RB Leipzig were playing for a place in the knockout rounds, with Leipzig leading 2-0 at half-time.
