DeMarcus Lawrence unapologetic for snubbing young Giants fan who wanted autograph

Following an ugly loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon, fans of the New York Giants were left anxiously looking for any sort of silver lining. And for some very young fans, that came by way of autograph seeking after the contest.

Unfortunately for one young Giants fan, however, Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence had no desire to honor his simple request, simply walking right past the child and later laughing about it.

“You need the right jersey, son,” Lawrence said to the child, who walked away with heartbreak on his face.

It’s not uncommon for players to refuse autographs for opposing fans, but it’s rarely met with understanding or encouragement — especially when it comes to younger children.

But don’t expect an apology from Lawrence, who scoffed at the critics and delivered a very blunt message: “Suck it up.”

Giants players frequently spend an inordinate amount of time signing autographs for fans — even those of opposing teams — so Lawrence’s rebuff likely comes as a shock to many. But hey, they can’t teach class. You either have it or you don’t.
