DeMarcus Cousins states his goal to play in every game next season

Whether DeMarcus Cousins is starting or coming off the bench for the Los Angeles Lakers, the man known commonly as Boogie stated his goal to reporters for next season: playing in all 82 games.

Cousins missed most of the last regular season recovering from a torn Achilles and then missed most of the postseason after suffering a torn quad in the first round of the playoffs. But a noticeably slim Cousins told reporters in Las Vegas yesterday that he intends to be available for the Lakers on a nightly basis, according to Matthew Moreno of Lakers Nation.

Although he’s coming off a series of injuries, Cousins will have a chance to start on day one for the Lakers as he will have to battle last year’s starting center JaVale McGee for the starting spot. Cousins’ numbers were understandably down last season, playing for a championship contender and coming off of a major injury.

However, if Cousins re-discovers the form he had in New Orleans alongside Anthony Davis, his signing would instantly become the most valuable one of the summer as he signed a one-year contract at the veteran’s minimum.
