DeMarcus Cousins joins LeBron James in changing jersey number

LeBron James isn’t the only member of the Los Angeles Lakers changing his number to something that he’s worn in his past basketball life. One of the newest Lakers signings, center DeMarcus Cousins, has worn No. 0 over the last few years during his stops in New Orleans and Golden State.

On Tuesday, Cousins teased via his twitter page that he would be going from No. 0 back to the No. 15 he wore during his seven and a half seasons with the Sacramento Kings.

Perhaps going back to a team with purple as part of the color scheme was part of the impetus, or that LeBron James himself had changed numbers. Also, Cousins’ former teammate Kevin Durant recently changed his uniform from the iconic No. 35 he wore his whole career to the No. 7.

Cousins will likely be able to fight for the starting center spot in training camp alongside center JaVale McGee.
