DeMarcus Cousins' ex-girlfriend says he threatened to kill her: report

Former Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins stands accused of threatening to "put a bullet in" his ex-girlfriend's head, according to a report from TMZ Sports.

The report includes audio of a man Cousins' ex, Christy West, says is the NBA star who signed with the Lakers earlier this offseason. The disagreement was reportedly over whether West would send the former couple's child to Cousins' wedding, which TMZ said was over the weekend.

In the audio recording, the man on the phone is heard saying, "I'm gonna ask you this one more time before I take it to another level: Can I have my son here, please?"

When West says "No," the man on the line says: "I'm going to make sure I put a bullet in your (expletive) head."

TMZ says West filed court documents and a police report over the threat. In the court documents, West says Cousins had choked her on a previous occasion, according to TMZ.

The Lakers issued this statement to TMZ:

"We are aware of the allegation involving DeMarcus Cousins and, of course, take this claim seriously. We are in the process of gathering information and will reserve further comment at this time."

Cousins tore his ACL earlier in the offseason after signing a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Lakers.
