NEW DELHI: Team India's first defeat at the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia was courtesy a batting debacle against South Africa in Perth on Sunday. As India managed a below par 133 thanks to a horrendous batting performance, the Proteas comprehensively defeated Rohit Sharma and co. to go atop their group.
Barring Suryakumar Yadav, who was the lone warrior in the clash against South Africa -- scoring 68 off 40 -- the entire batting order crumbled like a pack of cards on a pace friendly Perth wicket.
KL Rahul in particular has had a torrid run in the T20 World Cup so far and once again the opener failed against the Proteas, scoring only 9 runs off 14 balls and was a hot topic of discussion on social media after Sunday's game.
