Throughout every chapter, there are plenty of secrets and hidden cutscenes to find, but none are as mysterious as the Deltarune eggs. With seemingly no direct function in the game, they sparked quite the intrigue in the community. After the Gaster incident, are we really surprised? Anyways, here you can learn how to find the hidden egg in each chapter. Let’s get started:
Chapter 1 Egg Location
In the first chapter, after the Field of Hopes and Dreams, you will enter the Forest. After a couple of screens, going past the enemies, you will see a screen with a blue sign. This is where lady luck will hopefully intervene. You will have to continuously go back and forth between the previous screen and this one, until you enter the egg room.

Do not worry, you won’t accidentally leave the egg room once you’ve entered. The game will change your orientation so you’re facing upwards, so you will be able to spam back and forth until you get it. We can’t predict when you’ll enter the room. Some took 2 minutes, whereas others needed up to 10. If you don’t have the patience for such an easter egg, here is how the screen looks like.

After going behind the tree, a man will give you an egg, and disappear. You can’t do anything with said egg, however you can place it in Asgore’s fridge. Yes, this item does transfer between worlds. What are the story implications behind that? We don’t know. Maybe Toby Fox just really likes eggs.
Chapter 2 Egg Location
In the second chapter of the game, there is a predefined route you have to take, on top of getting lucky. This route will start shortly after Noelle joins your party, and you head out into the city.
- Once you reach the screen with the traffic lights mini game, you need to head downwards.
- After you get to the bottom, take a left. You will encounter an empty alleyway where Toby Fox in dog form will run you over. I am not kidding.

After this incident, you will be teleported to a different location. If there is graffiti referencing a tree, everything was done successfully. Here is where Chapter 1 tactics make a comeback. You will have to move back between the alleyway screen and the main road, until you appear in a new alleyway.

Once again, there is a man behind the tree. This time, happy to see you. After this brief interaction, he grants you an egg. The egg does nothing, and we can jump to Chapter 3.
Chapter 3 Egg Location
After 3 years of development, Chapter 3 brings a lot to the table, and one of those things include the most convoluted way of finding the egg. After progressing through the TV World and finishing up the TV puzzles, you will go to the bottom of the screen and open the secret door.

Enter the hidden door and progress through the cutscenes as you normally would. It’s a linear sequence of events, until you reach a familiar mini game. Don’t just solve the mini game. You will need to place the block in a specific location. As Susie, pick up the block and toss it across the river between the bushes, as shown below.

Leave the room, and head to the bottom right corner of the screen, and go to the new area. Keep heading in the southeast direction, until you are seen by a guard. You will be prompted to answer some questions, and you need to answer them correctly.

Q: You’re a cheater, ain’t ya?
A: Cheater.
Q: Where ya headed?
A: Nowhere.
After these responses, you will be transported to a brand new location, alone. There will be a mini puzzle blocking your way. Simply finish it by placing the block in the right spot and move forward.
In the following room, you will see an old man NPC both in front of you and on the television. You will have to talk to him many times, until a wardrobe appears in the game. Interact with the wardrobe and you’ll receive a Trip Ticket.

Now you’re required to backtrack a bit. Walk to the door that least to Goulden Sam, and enter the frog room with trashcans. Interact with the only closed trashcan, which will initiate a fight with the frog.

Do not fight or act during this fight. Follow these exact steps. Press Act, and hold the left directional button. This will make you escape the encounter and teleport you to a new location called “Mancountry”. You can interact with everything if you’d like, but to get the egg, just go upwards, and you’ll find the familiar tree.

The man behind the tree will ask you several questions, and you will need to answer them all correctly to get given the egg.
Q: Will you forget me, too?
A: No
Q: I ask again, will you forget me?
A: No
Q: The whole world looked like this. Do you think so?
A: Yes
Q: Do you understand what I am saying?
A: Yes
Q: Did you want to meet again?
A: Yes
Q: Did you remember to write it down?
A: Yes
If you answer all of this correctly, you will be given an egg.
Chapter 4 Egg Locatio
For now the last available egg in the game. We will update with the new eggs and what they mean as soon as the new chapters are added. But for now, enjoy the Chapter 4 Egg location in Deltarune.
You will need to head to the second Sanctuary, and visit the long hallway of stained-glass windows. There are several ways people explained which stained-glass window is the correct one, and missed out on the most obvious tell. All of the windows look the same, besides the correct one, which has an egg at the top instead of a normal circle. It’s located after passing the 4th NPC.

This is the last time everyone will need help from lady luck. Once again, you will need to keep entering and reentering the secret room until you get teleported to a hospital. Head towards the door with a tree on it. You’ll walk into a completely dark room and will need to interact with prompts completely blindly. Keep talking until you get the “Will you draw?” prompt. Say yes. After this, there will be several speech bubbles, and at the end, an egg will be placed in your inventory, which is the final available egg.

What Do The Eggs Do?
As of right now, there is no exact use of the eggs. People associate them with Gaster, which, in my opinion, is grasping at straws for unused content from Undertale. Some believe that the eggs are a metaphor of Kris’s emotional state, and each room showcases a time in their history. Walking through a park, going to the big city, playing video games, and visiting the hospital. All of these places hold a significant meaning to Kris, we just do not have enough puzzle pieces to see the full picture. At least, not yet.
