Sept. 19--The Motion Picture Television Fund is partnering with Delta Airlines to help entertainment industry workers and their families.
The Woodland Hills-based charity said Delta has agreed to support a new emergency assistance travel program for Hollywood families.
The program will provide free flights to needy active or retired workers and their immediate family members who have an emergency, or need medical treatment in another city.
"I can't think of a better way for Delta to impact the lives of those working in the entertainment industry than to partner with MPTF to provide support in times of crisis and need," said Jeffrey Katzenberg, chief executive of DreamWorks Animation and chairman of the MPTF Foundation.
The partnership expands Delta's support for the fund over the last two years. The airline has been a sponsor of various fundraising events for the charity, which last year provided $2 million in assistance to industry members based on their financial needs.
"We are proud to assist MPTF members with travel arrangements in their times of need," said Ranjan Goswami, a Delta vice president of sales.
