Delph, Danilo, Mangala: How Man City's six summer departures have fared at their new clubs so far

Man City became the first team in England to secure the domestic treble last season but that didn't stop Pep Guardiola strengthening his squad in the summer.

City broke their transfer record to land Rodri from Atletico Madrid - the Spaniard was viewed as the ideal successor for Fernandinho in the engine room.

Joao Cancelo became the world's most expensive full-back, with that deal costing the club around £58.5million and Danilo heading in the opposite direction.

Left-back Angelino was also re-signed to provide competition to Oleks Zinchenko and Benjamin Mendy.

In terms of outgoings, Guardiola allowed six players to leave - so we've taken a look at how each of them has fared since moving on...

Fabian Delph - Everton

Fabian Delph left City to join Everton (2019 Matt McNulty - Manchester City)

An excellent servant to the club, Fabian Delph left City for Marco Silva's Everton.

The 29-year-old played a variety of roles for City, mostly being utilised at left-back after a serious injury to Benjamin Mendy.

Delph has since moved back to the centre of midfield but has been unable to improve the Toffees' fortunes.

Silva is under increasing pressure following a poor start to the new campaign but Delph has been one of the club's better performing players.

VERDICT: Hit

Danilo - Juventus

Brazilian full-back Danilo joined Juventus in a deal worth around £33m during the summer.

The former Real Madrid man never cemented a place in the first team under Guardiola but provided cover for a variety of roles.

The 28-year-old has made a decent start to life in Italy, starting three games in Serie A and being named man of the match after scoring in the 4-3 win against Napoli.

VERDICT: Hit

Douglas Luiz - Aston Villa

Douglas Luiz left City for Aston Villa (2019 Aston Villa FC)

Guardiola was a huge fan of Douglas Luiz and wanted to keep him but issues surrounding a work permit pretty much forced City to sell the Brazilian.

Aston Villa snapped him up for £15m, a respectable fee given his lack of appearances for City's first team.

Luiz netted a fine goal during Villa's 2-1 defeat by Bournemouth and scored again during their recent 5-1 win at Norwich.

He is still adapting to life at Villa Park but he's made a solid start that can be built upon.

VERDICT: Hit

Manu Garcia - Sporting Gijon

Left City in the summer after making just one Premier League appearance.

The 21-year-old moved to the second tier of Spanish football and has been a regular for Sporting Gijon, scoring once and notching two assists in nine appearances.

City have a buy-back clause inserted in his contract but it seems unlikely they will trigger it.

VERDICT: Miss

Vincent Kompany - Anderlecht

Club legend Vincent Kompany left City in the summer after many trophy-laden seasons in Manchester.

He returned to Belgium to take up a player-coach role with his former side Anderlecht but has struggled thus far.

VERDICT: Miss

Eliaquim Mangala - Valencia

The decision to allow Eliaquim Mangala to leave the club may look like a mistake given their current defensive injury woes.

However, the Frenchman never really looked like a Premier League defender and was rightly moved on.

He signed for Valencia on a free but hasn't made an appearance so far this season.

VERDICT: N/A
