Deloitte to close Gatwick, Liverpool, Nottingham and Southampton offices

Deloitte has said it will close four offices across the country after a review of its real estate portfolio.

The financial services giant announced on Monday that it is proposing to close its Gatwick, Liverpool, Nottingham and Southampton offices, with affected staff to be offered full-time remote working roles.

The firm has 50 offices across the UK and although it's not known how many staff will be affected, around 60 people work at the Liverpool site in Exchange Flags.

Stephen Griggs, Deloitte UK's managing partner, said: “Covid-19 has fast-tracked our future of work programme, leading us to review our real estate portfolio and how we use our offices across the UK, including London. As a result, we are proposing our Gatwick, Liverpool, Nottingham and Southampton offices will permanently close and the firm is consulting with Deloitte people based out of these offices to move to a permanent homeworking contract."

All of Deloitte's 20,000 employees are currently working from home.

Mr Griggs added: “Everyone based in these locations will continue to be employed by Deloitte and any proposed change is to our ‘bricks and mortar’, not our presence in these regions.

"We remain committed to these regional markets and will continue our close relationships with our clients, society partners and communities, just without a physical building.”
