Deloitte creates new jobs - In the week 4/4/11

Financial services: Tax and consultancy firm Deloitte is creating 125 jobs in Belfast over the next two years, according to the BBC. Of the new jobs, 100 will focus on software development, testing, and application support. The remaining 25 will be at a complementary unit to research and develop best market practices around tax processes and administration.

Social care: A home care company is recruiting up to 40 part-time carers in Staffordshire. The new Homes Instead Senior Care franchise will provide a range of services to older people in their homes including meal preparation, medication reminders and light housekeeping. The new staff will be taken on over the next 12 months and full training is provided, reports This is Staffordshire.

IT: A new computer software research and development centre will lead to more than 45 new jobs in Wales. Tribold will create high-skill roles focusing on software production development, software testing and released product support, according to WalesOnline. The new centre in Cwmbran will open in May this year.

Technology: A mobile phone banking technology company is creating 40 jobs by opening a south Wales office. Monitise will focus on the development and testing of mobile banking, payments and business services at its base in Nantgarw, Rhondda Cynon Taf. Mike Keyworth from Monitise would they be looking to forge strong links with local colleges and universities to help train graduates, according to the BBC.

Distribution: Supermarket chain Waitrose has announced plans to create up to 600 jobs at a new distribution centre in Lancashire. The company said it hoped to recruit drivers, warehouse operatives and other staff at the centre in Chorley, according to the BBC. A formal planning application will be submitted to Chorley borough council and, subject to consent, the centre will be operational by autumn 2012 with recruitment likely to start in spring next year, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Manufacturing: A specialist engineering company is creating a dozen new manufacturing jobs in Bradford. Ventilation specialist Mansfield Pollard will create jobs for project managers, pipework engineers and panel wirers, reports the Telegraph & Argus.
