Deloitte appoints first female senior partner for Wales and South West

Accountancy firm Deloitte has appointed its first female practice senior partner for Wales and the south west of England. Lizzie Hill, a tax partner and member of the Deloitte Private executive group, is the first woman to hold the role locally.

Ms Hill brings over twenty years' experience supporting privately-owned companies and has been instrumental in growing Deloitte Private. She takes over the practice senior partner role from Martyn Gregory, who was in the role of nearly ten years and oversaw three transformational acquisitions in the region including Keytree in Port Talbot.

Deloitte employs over 2,000 professionals in Wales and the south west of England, with 1,700 of those employed in Wales.

Ms Hill said: "I am thrilled to take on the role of leading Deloitte’s Wales and south west of England practice. I recognise the importance of Wales as a devolved nation with a unique identity and I’m looking forward to meeting more of the fantastic individuals and businesses that call this beautiful nation their home."

She added: “I am delighted that Liz Jones, a partner in our consulting practice, is returning to Wales to work with myself and Ian Howse, senior partner for Wales, to further grow our business in the principality.

“Together, we are passionate about making a positive impact in our communities. Not only through the firm’s Five Million Futures programme, which is already active across Wales and the South West, but also by fostering an inclusive, diverse and happy work environment where all Deloitte’s talented individuals can thrive.”

Dan Barlow, partner and head of regions at Deloitte, said: “Lizzie is a fantastic addition to the senior partner team – her knowledge of the region and the clients within it is extensive, as is her understanding of the firm. I know that under her leadership, the practice will continue to flourish.”

Martyn Gregory, partner and the newly appointed UK M&A lead at Deloitte, said: “I’d like to congratulate Lizzie on her appointment – she will be a great leader for Wales and the South West. This is an exciting time for us and I look forward to supporting Lizzie in her new role.”
