Delivery Rider Spends Nearly Half His Earnings Feeding the Homeless, Says It's His Father's Legacy

A Mission Inspired by His Father's Teachings

When asked what motivates him to continue the initiative despite financial challenges, Saroj shared that the idea comes from the lessons his father instilled in him.

"My father's values. I want to ensure no one sleeps hungry," he said.

Although his efforts have earned widespread appreciation on social media, he explained that managing the initiative is far from easy. Alongside working long hours as a delivery rider, he has to arrange finances, prepare meals, and coordinate distribution, all without external support.

Balancing Work and Daily Food Drives

Saroj's routine requires careful planning. After completing delivery assignments, he uses a portion of his earnings to prepare fresh meals and distribute them to people living on the streets.

Despite the physical exhaustion, he says the smiles of those he helps make every sacrifice worthwhile. One of his most memorable experiences, he recalled, was serving freshly prepared meals to homeless people near the Kashmiri Gate flyover.

Sharing these moments on social media, he hopes to encourage more people to contribute to society in whatever way they can.

Nearly Half His Income Goes Towards Helping Others

According to Saroj, he earns around ₹1,200 per day through his delivery job. Out of that amount, he spends approximately ₹500 daily on preparing meals and supporting his food drives.

He also clarified that while he posts videos of his work on Instagram, the platform does not generate any income for him.

"I earn 0 from Instagram. Everything is 100% self-funded from my delivery work," he said.

His food distribution efforts primarily cover areas including Pitampura, Rohini, Jahangirpuri, and GTB Nagar, where he serves anyone who is hungry and sleeping on the streets.

A Message About Kindness

Reflecting on his journey, Saroj acknowledged that continuing the initiative requires sacrificing personal savings, comfort, and time. However, he believes the impact is worth every effort.

Summing up his philosophy, he said, "No act of kindness is small. True success is giving back to society."

Through his daily food drives, Aakash Saroj continues to prove that meaningful change does not always require great wealth—sometimes, it simply begins with the willingness to share what you have.
