A delivery rider was knocked from his motorbike and rushed to hospital in a crash outside Asda.
Emergency services were called to Seaview Road, in Wallasey, shortly after 5pm on Thursday to report of a collision between a motorbike and a car.
It is believed the rider of the motorbike, a male delivery rider, was knocked into the road and injured,
Paramedics and police raced to the scene as witnesses reported seeing a man being treated on the ground.
Officers then erected cordons in the area to keep traffic away from the scene.
Road closures are currently in place between Earlston Road and Asda roundabout with drivers being asked to avoid the area.
The condition of the injured man is not yet known but it is believed that the driver of the car stopped at the scene to help police.
Pictures taken on Seaview Road show police officers inspecting a red motorbike with a Stuart delivery bag nearby.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Emergency services are currently at the scene.
"A motorbike was in collision with a car on Seaview Road and the area is currently blocked near the Asda."
