Delivery driver left ‘understandably shaken’ after being punched and having bike stolen in Manchester’s gay village

Police have released the image of a man they’d like to speak to in regards to a robbery that occurred outside of a venue in Manchester’s gay village last month.

At around 11.20pm on the evening of Sunday, December 12, a delivery driver was punched as he dismounted his electric bike outside the Village Shop on Bloom Street.

Approaching the driver from behind, the man also stole the bike before fleeing in the direction of Oxford Road.

Following the incident, the driver, who is in his 20s, required hospital treatment and was left ‘understandably shaken’ by the attack.

Detectives believe a second man may have been with the offender just before the offence and fled towards Sackville Street.

Investigators are hoping to identify the man in order to speak to him with regards to their inquiries.

Anyone with information can call police on 0161 856 4275 quoting incident number 3112 of 12/12/2020.

Details can also be shared anonymously, via the independent charity Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
