Delivery driver kidnapped from Starbucks and shoved into the back of his own van

A delivery driver was kidnapped from the car park of a Starbucks and shoved into the back of his own van.

He was then driven to a cemetery where all his parcels were stolen and he was left there alone and in the dark.

The incident happened at around 7.30pm on Monday when the 45-year-old parked his white Ford Transit van outside the coffee chain at Apollo Park in Warrington.

He was due to meet some colleagues but as he waited, two men with Liverpool accents got into his van and shoved him in the back.

The men then drove the van to a cemetery in Knowsley before stealing all the parcels from the driver's van into another one that was waiting there.

According to the victim, the waiting van may have been green but the men drove off in it and his van at speed, leaving him in the cemetery.

The stolen van was later found at a house in Whiston.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with any information which may aid the investigation."

Detective Constable Caroline Wharmby, from Warrington Local Policing unit said: “This investigation is in its early stages and we are doing all we can to trace the people responsible.

“As part of our enquiries we’re keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information which may aid our investigation. The same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage.
