Delivery driver destroys Christmas present by launching it over garden fence

A courier delivering a Christmas gift was caught launching the package through the air and into a woman's garden.

CCTV video shows the delivery driver tossing the parcel over the garden gate and onto the front path of a house in Ellesmere Port, reports Cheshire Live.

The mum - who did not want to be named - said the packaged delivered just days before Christmas contained a gift for her daughter and was damaged.

She says it wasn't until she checked her security camera outside her house that she realised her package had been delivered and left in such a way.

She said: "I was fuming and shocked when I saw the footage.

"There's no need for it, it's just pure laziness."

She said the parcel was "soaking wet" when she picked it up from her path.

The delivery was made to the house on Pooltown Road at around 7.40am on Tuesday, December 22.

The 40-year-old says the package contained a £25 docking station for an iPhone, Apple watch and Airpods from Amazon and was bought for her 14-year-old daughter for Christmas.

But when the parcel was opened she said she discovered the docking station had a large crack down the side.

She said: "I originally called Amazon to say it hadn't been delivered because I didn't notice it or think it would be half way up my path,.

"I've rang them again to complain but I've not heard anything back."

The mum and nan-of-one said she is hoping for an apology and refund from Amazon.

Amazon said it does not employ delivery drivers directly, but will be looking into the matter.

An Amazon spokesperson said: "We have very high standards for our delivery service providers and expect every package to be handled with care.

"We've notified the right teams internally and will work with the customer directly on matters related to their package delivery.".
