Delivery driver caught on camera helping herself to customer's food order

With restaurants set to close their doors to visitors for the second time during the pandemic, food delivery services have been vital in helping us continue to enjoy our favourite meals.

But one customer in the US who made an order online was left baffled when they were notified that their food was waiting on the doorstep, only to find no sign of it when they looked outside.

Checking footage recorded on the doorbell camera, it showed a delivery driver leaving the bag of food on the doorstep as promised, before stepping back to take a photo as proof it had been successfully delivered.

However, the driver is then caught grabbing the bag and retreating back down the driveway with the order to leave the customer to go hungry.

Unfortunately for the worker of DoorDash (a food delivery service in the US), her every move was recorded and the video has racked up more than 10 million views after being uploaded to TikTok.

It was shared with the caption: "Did you think cameras didn't exist?? Hope DoorDash fires you."

The footage left other viewers stunned, as one commented to say: "Now I know why it's called DoorDash, they put it on the door and dash with it."

A second said: "I think she took the dash part too literal."

Another joked: "That food must've smelled real good. She pulled up and said 'nah b, this me'."

Someone else said: "As a delivery driver we don't claim her."

A DoorDash spokesperson said: "We have zero tolerance for such inappropriate behavior, and are actively working to identify the Dasher and will immediately deactivate from the platform.

"We sincerely regret that this incident fell short of the experience we strive to give our customers every day, and are reaching out to this customer to support."
