Deliveroo reveals Dublin eats the most vegan and veggie food as capital restaurant crowned best in Ireland

Dublin people eat the most vegan and veggie dishes in the country, a new survey has found.

Environmentally conscious Dubliners have latched on to the meat-free trend as the capital sees the most orders for veg-based cuisine.

Cork comes a close second in terms of the number of vegan/veggie dishes ordered versus population size.

Nearly 30% of main meal orders were meat-free on average during the lockdown months of March to June, figures from Deliveroo revealed today on National Eat Your Vegetables Day.

Umi Falafel’s Palestinian Falafel has been crowned the most popular meat-free dish on the takeaway app.

Arabella Jenkins at Deliveroo said: “Not only have we seen a hungry appetite for new vegan and veggie dishes and restaurants from our customers who always order vegan, but we’ve also seen a flexi trend emerging where an increasing number of customers are ordering a mix of vegan and non-vegan dishes.

“We are here to deliver great choice and selection to our customers, whatever they fancy.”
