Deliveroo cyclist spits on shocked Glasgow couple's car window after city centre road rage rammy

A Scots couple were left in shock after a road rage Deliveroo driver spat on their car in Glasgow.

Jade Campbell and her partner Stephen Collins were heading for an afternoon at Kelvingrove Park in the city’s west end with their puppy when the cyclist, carrying Deliveroo boxes, began cycling dangerously ahead of them.

After observing him “zig-zag” on the road avoiding near collisions with other cars, Jade and Stephen decided to beep their horn to let him know they were there.

However, the situation then took a sinister turn when the cyclist approached them, looked through the window and spat on the glass before making off.

Jade, 27, told the Daily Record: “I was kind of dumbfounded.

“I was just in shock and Stephen was just raging. When I saw him coming towards our window I just knew something bad was going to happen.

“Thank God I didn’t have my window down or I think I would have been sick.”

Jade and Stephen, 28, first spotted the cyclist near Charing Cross when a red car in front of them had to swerve to avoid him.

Jade said: “He was right in the middle of the road and zig-zagging all over the place.

“I told Stephen to beep the horn because he wasn’t going to see us.

“When he came towards us he looked right through the window and then spat at us.”

The couple followed the cyclist to try and stop him and get his name but he ignored them and cycled off down a one-way street.

After being left shaken by the incident, the couple decided to abandon their trip to the park with puppy Barney and instead returned home to Robroyston.

Jade said: “It just ruined the day to be honest. It made me think about how he is behaving towards others as well.”

Jade took to Facebook to warn others of the delivery man and said the incident has made her unwilling to use the service again.

She also reported the incident to Deliveroo’s social media team.

“I would never use them at all now. I know not all drivers are the same, but this incident has just made me never want to touch it.”

In her post Jade said: “First of all we see him at Charing Cross skipping all the red lights... swerving all over the road that a red car almost minced him in front of us. Then he did the same to us in front so we beeped the horn.

“This idiot decided to spit on our car passenger window as he went past the red light. What if that window was down!!! Then he cycled down a one way street when we tried to chase him.

“Never using Deliveroo services and will be telling anyone I know to also boycott them!”

A spokesperson for Deliveroo said: "Deliveroo takes rider conduct extremely seriously and is urgently dealing with this incident.

"The rider has been suspended while we carry out an investigation."
