Deloitte to close Nottingham office and move permanently to working from home

Deloitte has announced it will close its Nottingham office to move to working from home practices.

The company said approximately 160 employees who work at the office, based in Woodborough Road, will move to a permanent homeworking contract.

The Nottingham office is one of four which will close as the company reacts to the coronavirus pandemic.

Stephen Griggs, Deloitte UK managing partner, said that everyone affected will continue to be employed by the company.

He said: “Covid-19 has fast-tracked our future of work programme, leading us to review our real estate portfolio and how we use our offices across the UK, including London.

"As a result, we are proposing our Gatwick, Liverpool, Nottingham and Southampton offices will permanently close and the firm is consulting with Deloitte people based out of these offices to move to a permanent homeworking contract.

“Everyone based in these locations will continue to be employed by Deloitte and any proposed change is to our ‘bricks and mortar’, not our presence in these regions.

"We remain committed to these regional markets and will continue our close relationships with our clients, society partners and communities, just without a physical building.”
