Bhubaneswar-based Indian Super League (ISL) side Odisha FC have roped in Mizo winger Isaac Vanmalsawma ahead of the eighth season of the premier league of the country. The 24-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the club on Wednesday with an option to extend for a third year.
After signing on the dotted lines, an elated Isaac expressed, "I am delighted to join this young and exciting team. We will play vibrant and entertaining football, delighting our loyal fans who have been with us every step of the way. I want to assure them that, neither I nor the team will ever give up and will keep fighting till the final whistle."
"I would like to thank the Odisha FC management for this opportunity, and I shall work hard to repay the faith that they have shown in me," the former Shillong Lajong FC player added.
After representing India under-19 in 2013 and graduating from AIFF Elite Academy, the youngster turned professional joining I-League side Shillong Lajong.
He then started his ISL sojourn with FC Pune City in 2017 and went on to represent Chennaiyin FC and Jamshedpur FC later. The promising lad had made his senior debut for the Men in Blue against Bhutan under former India head coach Stephen Constantine.
