Delight for Scots baker as she bags primetime slot on BBC 1 cake show

A Scots baker will be taking to television screens across the country after bagging a primetime slot on BBC 1.

Nichola Reith, of Three Sisters bake fame, is now fronting baking programme Flour Power .

The show, which aired on BBC Scotland in June this year, will see workmates across Scotland battle for the cake-making crown.

The Three Sisters Bake head honcho will be providing baking guidance to contestants before giving feedback on their best efforts.

Scotland’s famous baking siblings have been wowing Scots foodies with their unique ice-cream sundaes, brownies and celebration cakes since the launch of their first cafe in Renfrewshire eight years ago.

Rave reviews resulted in the opening of two more branches in Glasgow and Killearn, Stirlingshire.

Now, the trio have more cause for celebration after Flour Power was given the green light to take over from Mary Berry’s 11am slot on Saturday mornings for 10 weeks.

Nichola expressed that it was a ‘dream come true’.

She said: “Being a TV baking judge has been an amazing and totally surreal experience, for this pipe dream to become a reality has been almost too good to be true.

"Baking is in my blood and I love nothing more than trying out creations other people have made. I was bowled over by the standard of baking from some of the contestants.

“It was a true pinch-me moment when we found out the show would be aired on a primetime TV slot on BBC 1 on Saturday mornings.”
