More than 200 gymnasts took part in Hamilton Gymnastics Club’s annual recreational competition last month.
The recreational competition on Saturday, February 12, was the first such event the club were able to hold, post-Covid restrictions.
Gymnasts attended the competition throughout the day on the Saturday and competed with Level A, B, C, D or Disability.
Each child showed off their floor and vault skills to the judges that they had been working on in weekly sessions for a month prior to the competition.
Coach Amy Livingstone said: “It was lovely to be able to hold our first recreational competition post-Covid, and the parents were overjoyed to be able to watch as well.
“We want to say a massive thank you to all of our volunteers and young leaders, who ran the competition and used this opportunity to gain experience in event organisation, management and front of house duties.
“Also, a massive well done to everyone who took part in the event – they were amazing!”

Round 1: 1 - Maria McQuade and Hannah Dodds; 3 - Sam Reilly.
Round 2 (Level A): 1 - Abbey Gould and Lola-Belle Gillen; 2 - Connor Smith, Daniel Sockalingam and Leila Young; 3 - Olivia Davidson.
Round 2 (Level C): 1 - Tilly McGillivray; 2 - Maia Brody; 3 - Amie Reilly.
Round 3 (Level A): 1 - Rose Waldron; 2 - Anna McNee; 3 - Harlow Mae Monteith.
Round (Level B): 1 - Ollie Menzies; 2 - Olivia Elliott; 3 - Darcie Dougan.
Round 3 (Level C): 1 - Emeli McDonald; 2 - Alex Johnston; 3 - Brooke Deatcher.
Round 2 (Disability): 1 - Olivia Lockhart; 2 - Alexander Kenny; 3 - Ryan Matheson and Millie Gillion.
Round 4 (Level B): 1 - Emily Conroy and Keira Corbett; 2 - Sophie Wood and Stella McCluskey; 3 - Keeva Rodger and Zoë Heijnen.
Round 4 (Level D): 1 - Sarah Rose McNaught; 2 - Faith McAuley; 3 - Sophie Kearney.
