One of North Lanarkshire Leisure’s flagship leisure facilities is to re-open next month.
A council spokesman confirmed the gym and fitness studios will be reopening at the Aquatec in Motherwell from February 14.
That follows essential maintenance works as part of a planned programme of work included the replacement of boilers and gym equipment repairs.
A NL Leisure statement published online read: “We are delighted to announce that following essential maintenance works, the Aquatec gym and studios will be reopening on Monday, February 14.
“We thank you for your patience and support during this period and can’t wait to welcome you back to our venue.”
Over the past few months the Aquatec has also been used as a COVID-19 testing centre in Lanarkshire.
In 2017, the new-look Aquatec re-opened after a £225,000 facelift with improvements made to the pool and the health suite.
Chairman of NL Leisure, Councillor Barry McCulloch, said at that time: “The Aquatec is looking absolutely superb following its extensive refurbishment and is ready to serve future generations of families and children to come along, learn to swim and have fun.”
