Deliberate fire started in rubbish chute by block of flats as police launch probe

A deliberate fire was started in a rubbish chute by a block of flats in Clydebank.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm yesterday (Friday, April 30) at Park Court, Littleholm Place in the Dalmuir area.

Police Scotland has confirmed nobody was injured in the blaze but said the consequences could have been "horrific".

Officers are now appealing for anyone with information about the fire to come forward.

Detective Constable Iain Allison, of Clydebank CID, said: “No one was injured but this fire could have had horrific consequences in such a high storey block. Fortunately the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished it quickly.
