'Deliberate' fire damaging three cars in Glasgow south side parks police probe

Police are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising in Glasgow that damaged three cars in a residential street.

Around 2.15am on Saturday, 12 March, 2022, officers were called to a report of a car on fire on Kilbeg Terrace, between Darnley and Thornliebank.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire safely and there were no reports of any injuries.

A further two cars were damaged as a result.

Detective Constable Ewan Gilmour said: “Thankfully nobody has been injured as a result of this reckless act.

“We are treating the fire as deliberate and are asking anyone with any information to get in touch.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed anything suspicious, or who has any other information which may assist to contact us.”
