NEW DELHI: Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) on Friday announced that aspirants can now fill out applications for admissions to the 2022-23 academic session. The university has over 7,300 seats to offer this year for various diploma, undergraduate and post-graduate programmes, senior officials said.
Neharika Vohra, vice-chancellor, DSEU, announced that four new undergraduate programmes, including bachelors in library sciences, B.Sc in hospital management, BBA in automotive retail management and bachelors in optometry, will be offered.
Fifteen diploma programmes, 13 lateral entry programmes and 16 undergraduate programmes will be offered in the upcoming session, other than the two part-time diploma courses already available, the varsity said.
These programmes will be offered across varsity’s 19 campuses, including at the three recent additions — Dr HJ Bhabha DSEU Mayur Vihar Campus; Sir CV Raman DSEU Dheerpur Campus; and Centre for Healthcare, Allied Medical and Paramedical Sciences DSEU Okhla-II Campus.
Stating that the skill university aims to promote education among women, Vohra said, “We at DSEU welcome students from all walks of life, and assure that no eligible candidate shall be denied admission due to economic or social barriers. Over 500 scholarships have been provided to students in the last year and the university shall ensure more scholarships for students this year, too. Additionally, special scholarships for women candidates are also being introduced in order to reduce the gender gap in higher education.”
“We invite more and more women students to join the university and become a part of the country’s economy and workforce. We are an inclusive university and want students from all genders,” Vohra said.
The university, which focuses on skill-embedding and job-oriented programs, will conduct the entire admission process online and multiple rounds of seat allocation and spot counselling will take place, officials said. While aspirants have to apply on the centralised admission portal, 85% of the seats will be reserved for students from Delhi.
“Last year, almost 90% of our seats were taken. Many aspirants approached us when the admission process was over and, therefore, could not be accommodated. We are hoping all the seats are taken this year,” Vohra said.
For diploma programmes, a common entrance test will also be held on July 10, officials said.
