NEW DELHI: A man has been intercepted by CISF surveillance and intelligence staff at IGI Airport’s Terminal 3 for allegedly carrying foreign currency worth Rs 1.2 crore without valid documents.
The Bangkok-bound Indian passenger, who was later handed over to the Customs department, was spotted on the basis of behaviour detection at the check-in area. The money, $1,54,500 & 5000 Thai baht, was concealed in the “false bottom” of his bag, said an official.
In another matter, CISF detected foreign currency worth Rs 25 lakh in the “rusk box” inside the bags of two Indians. TNN
