Delhi-NCR is bracing for another spell of unsettled weather on Friday, August 7, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) alert map showing an orange alert across several parts of Delhi. Gurgaon and Faridabad are under a yellow watch, while Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad are shown in green, indicating no weather warning.
The IMD forecast comes after heavy rain disrupted normal life across parts of Delhi-NCR earlier this week, with waterlogging and traffic congestion reported in several areas.
Delhi weather today: IMD orange alert
According to the IMD's latest district-wise weather alert map, large parts of Delhi are under an orange alert on August 7.
The orange shading covers North Delhi, North West Delhi, North East Delhi, Central Delhi, West Delhi, East Delhi, South West Delhi and South Delhi.
The alert signals the possibility of significant weather activity, and residents should remain cautious, particularly in areas vulnerable to waterlogging and rain-related disruption.
Gurgaon weather today: IMD yellow watch
Gurgaon is marked yellow on the IMD map, placing the city under a watch for August 7.
The warning comes after heavy rainfall recently caused severe waterlogging and traffic disruption across Gurgaon. Major roads, including the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, witnessed long queues during peak hours following intense overnight rain.
With another spell of rain possible, commuters should allow additional travel time and check traffic updates before heading out.
Faridabad under IMD yellow watch
The IMD map also places Faridabad under a yellow watch on Friday.
Rainfall could affect visibility and road conditions, particularly during heavier showers. Residents in low-lying and waterlogging-prone areas should remain alert as weather conditions change.
Noida and Ghaziabad have no IMD warning
Noida and Greater Noida, in Gautam Buddh Nagar, are shown in green on the IMD map, indicating no weather warning for August 7.
Ghaziabad is also marked green, meaning no warning has been issued for the district on the displayed forecast.
However, no warning does not necessarily mean completely dry conditions. Rain can still occur in these areas even when a formal alert is not in place.
