Delhi: Man shoots his friend dead in Dwarka, held

NEW DELHI: A Delhi University graduate has been arrested for allegedly shooting his friend in Dwarka Sector 23, police said on Saturday. The deceased, Prakash Aggarwal (45), used to run a sanitaryware shop in Chawri Bazar, additional commissioner of police (crime) Shibesh Singh said.

Police found his bullet-riddled body near Pochanpur in Dwarka on Friday.

His wife, Kanika Aggarwal (42), told police that she last spoke to him around 6.30 pm on Thursday. He had told her that he was with one Kamal Sharma in Palam village. "After that, his phone remained switched off and she had been unable to speak with him," the officer said.

Following her statement, police detained Sharma near Dwarka sector 11-12. "Two pistols were recovered from his possession. He admitted that he had killed Prakash and had thrown his body near Pochanpur," the officer said.

The two knew each other since 2017. Aggarwal had helped Sharma secure a bank loan against property, police said. Sharma was paying the money back, through the victim, who siphoned it off instead of making deposits at the bank. This discovery allegedly goaded him into the murder.
